If you know what God says about becoming a Christian, would you do it? Below is (was) my own very personal path to belief (1982)! The Bible states: WHO IS GOOD? Romans 3.10 As It is written, there is none righteous, no, not one: (You cannot be, or do good before God, on your own effort). WHO HAS SINNED? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Sin is your disbelief that God is, and is here, right now). GOD'S PRICE FOR SIN: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, (No matter who you are, your own good works are, but as sin, before God). GOD'S GIFT TO US: Romans 6:23 But the "gift" of God, even in our sinfulness, is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (A "gift" for you to be right with God, freely through Christ). OUR WAY OUT Romans 5:8 But God commanded His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Christ "Himself" takes "your sin" upon Himself. Instead of you being punished for your sin, Christ Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, in your place). and Romans 10:13 For whomever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Calling on Him alone, for your salvation, not on good works, not on yourself, not on a church or a priest, but on the Living Christ alone). Why be Saved? Perhaps you are not aware, but you drowning under you lack of care for your spiritual welfare. You are drowning and a saving life line is being thrown to you by your Creator, grasp it now! The Bible states Romans 10:9 That If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt he saved. and Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. WHAT YOU MUST DO: 1. Admit your need (a disbelieving sinner). 2. Be willing to turn (repent) and believe God. 3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you (on the Cross) in your place, and then rose from the dead. 4. Through prayer, talk to God and ask Jesus Christ to lead you and control your life. (Acknowledge Him as Saviour and lord.) What to pray: Dear Father, I know that I am a sinner, I need forgiveness and seek fellowship with you. I believe that Christ died for my very own sin. I am willing to turn from my disbelief and sin. I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I am willing, by God’s Grace to follow and obey Christ as the Lord of my life. (Note: The above prayer is not from the Bible, but it will assist you on your path with God through Christ Jesus. Your salvation comes not from the prayer, but from God alone. You will know now, or very shortly, that God has welcomed you home, and that you have received His wonderful promises and blessings.) Did you ackowledge Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour? If your answer was yes, then this is just the beginning of a wonderful new life with Christ. Now: 1. Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better. 2. Talk to God in prayer every day. 3. Tell others about Christ. 4. Be baptized, seek fellowship with true Christians, and God. 5. Fellowship with true Christians, but only where "The Risen Christ" is preached. Need more Gospel truth?
