Make a perfect Armetriding Farm Cuppa Tea.

Use water as fresh and clean as possible.  Some tap waters contain chemicals and can spoil a good cuppa tea.  Fresh rain water best.  Bore water is impossible, but sometimes, one may not have a
choice.

Now, regarding the pre-heating of the pot (tea pot) with hot water, well that depends were you are and it depends on the type of tea pot.

England and the English, made tea and tea-drinking into the Western art form that it is to today.

The reason for pre-heating the pot, is to avoid water temperature dropping, as it comes into contact with the "cold tea pot", this will cause the tea to loose much of its flavor. The heavier the teapot, the greater the loss of water temperature.  The colder the day, or the atmosphere, the greater the loss of water temperature.  All this having much effect on the successful brewing of the tea.

Finally, the pre-heating of the tea pot, should only be done has the water being boiled for the pot of tea, comes to the boil.

Deposit the tea into the pot, one teaspoon full of loose tea per cup (or one full tea-bag for each two cups of tea).  One must always add "one for the pot" if one likes a strong cuppa tea.

Always let the water fully boil, then take the pot to the kettle and pour water into the tea pot, wasting as little time as possible to avoid loss of water temperature.

Cover the pot with the lid and immediately put on the tea pot cozy to hold heat whilst the tea brews.

Brewing by colour or time is a matter of personal choice.  When used to one's tea, one can brew by time or colour.

Taking the tea leaves or the tea bags out of the teapot, is again a matter of choice, and one being used to ones choice of tea.
